Hat jemand eine Ahnung warum es bei den „klassicshen“ Wettbüros baw + mrbookmaker keine H2H auf den wallonischen Pfeil gibt ?
@ opera: Das Armstrong aufgrund seiner Krebserkrankung Medikamente benutzen darf, die leistungssteigernd wirken, ist Quatsch. In seinem Gesundheitsbuch ist KEIN einziger Eintrag, ausserdem hat er keinerlei Atteste (sagen sehr zuverlässige Quellen.)

Apr 18,2005 – Augusta, GA:
Lance: First of all I’d like to thank everyone for being here. This is probably the second biggest media event in Augusta in recent weeks (referring to recent The Masters golf tournament) – we’ll happily be second.
I will cut right to the chase and say that after a lot thought, considering the season and the races I was going to do this year, and having decided to focus on the Tour, at the same time I have decided that the Tour de France will be my last race as a professional cyclist. (Lance was visibly choked up as these words came out.) So July 24th will be the last one after more or less 14 years in the professional peloton, it will be the last one – win or lose. Having said that, I am fully committed to winning a 7th Tour.
There are a few people I would like to thank that have been very helpful along the way. First and foremost, I think the biggest inspiration in my life now and the biggest inspiration to this decision is my children. They are the ones that make it easier to suffer, but they are the ones who have told me that it’s time to come home. And so without them, none of this would be possible. The second is my mother, she’s been a great force that I have learned a lot from.
All the many, many sponsors and partners we have had along the years, and obviously now Discovery Communications. John Hendrix, Judith McHale, and especially Billy Campbell who came along and picked up a program last year, believed in our sport, believed in the team, believed in the Tour de France, believed in cycling – I can’t thank them enough. Obviously the relationship with Discovery will continue for years to come and I am excited in being a part of the programming there, helping Billy, helping all of the Discovery Networks to do different things, and sort of parlay the success on the bike into something else.
Also, I would like to thank this guy here – Johan Bruyneel – who in my view has been the premier sports director of all time. He’s directed 6 Tours and won 6, and I don’t know anyone else that can claim that record. This is the guy that came along and believed in me in 1998, and said that you could do it, and this is how you’re going to do it, and let’s go for it. And along the way he helped shape and mold the team and put together a group of people – not just riders, but staff and sponsors and advisors that made all of this a reality. With Johan and my teammates over the years – all of them, some are still on the team and some are not – they have all been key to 6 Tours and even the other races that lead up to the Tours. So I can’t thank them enough.
Sheryl, you’ve been an amazing woman. For somebody’s who’s the Queen of Rock & Roll you sure have been a great cycling fan, cycling teammate and a great partner. Lastly, my one other team – this team of 10 million cancer survivors around the country that have been very powerful, and I think if you look at certain times in my life I’ve relied on a special force, and I think the force of a team like that is incredibly powerful. So to have them to fall back on, and to know that not only do they inspire me, but that I can hopefully inspire them, I hope to give them one more Tour de France. That’s it for now, and I’d like to take some questions…

Nein, vom Giro ist keine Rede. Er sagt nichts über sein Rennprogramm. Fragen gehen nur dahin, ob er noch Rennen in den USA fährt.

Lance Armstrong announced today that he will retire from the sport of cycling on July 24, the final day of the 2005 Tour de France. He noted he wanted to spend more time with his family as well as to work with the cancer community. Lance specifically thanked his family, his sponsors – especially Discovery Channel, Johan Bruyneel, and Sheryl Crow, and the 10 million cancer survivors in here in America.
Will he race in San Francisco? Is this his last race in America?
If it’s after July 24 (and it is) then no. But if there’s a race in May I would defintely think about jumping in somewhere.
How’s your health?
I feel fine right now. I was a little unsure about this race last year, but I had a good result. I feel about the same now as I did last year, and I’d like to win again this year.
What about your contract with your team sponsor?
In regards to my contract with Discovery Channel it’s realy more than 2 years, but I don’t have to be on the bike. I do have to do another Tour de France and I would love to be able to go out on top. There are many other ways to be involved and I would love to be able to help develop the next American Tour de France winner.
Why announce now vs. in July?
The decision is firm and final and I thought it was something that needs to be out there. I am just trying to be upfront and honest about that.
Will he ever race again?
If there’s a local Mountain Bike Race somewhere in Texas, I might show up – I’ll need to get my competitive fix somehow, but I will not do the Olympics in 2008.

Glaube auch nicht an Karriereende nach der Tour, es wäre gewagt, so etwas so früh anzukündigen….

…..Aha, gerade gab es im Fernsehen (RTL, unglaublich, sogar vor Foormel1 und Schumi) einen Kurzbericht über das Bergzeitfahren. Wetter war ziemlich bescheiden und der Berg sah zum Schluss nach 39/25 aus. RICHTIG steil… Uns Ulle schon ziemlich durchtrainiert! Ich staune ! Ich hoffe, das geht so weiter !!
Hm, schwer zu sagen, aber weniger Rückstand hätte ich auch erwartet. Es ist jedoch nicht klar, ob er „alles“ gegeben hat oder nur „zügig“ durchgerollt ist und danach/ davor noch trainiert hat. Wird ja auch manchmal bei solchen Vorbereitungsrundfahrts-ZF gemacht…
Das Zeitfahren ging bergauf, Siegerzeit 24 Minuten, d.h. er war knapp 12% langsamer als der Sieger. Da wirklich gute Fahrer fehlen, würde ich seine Leistung beim Sarthe ZF höher einschätzen. Am Berg scheint es noch nicht so zu gehen. Allan Davis z.B als ausgemachter Sprinter ist noch vor ihm gelandet…Bei MrBookmaker kommen gerade die H2H für AGR (noch ohne Quote…) Da gibt es ein paar ganz interessante Sachen:

Valverde – Dekker E
Kessler – Etxebarria D
Celestino – Leukemans
Vinokourov – Freire
Perdiguero – Kirchen
Zabel – ViciosoRebellin, Dekker (schätze ich „zu Hause“ stärker als Valverde) ein und Vinokourov dürften eigentlich ziemlich sichere Dinge sein…Warten wir mal auf die Quoten..

Ausserdem beziehen sich die 2 Jahre ja auch auf Sportler, die nur eine 6-monats Sperre bekommen (z.B. durch „günstige“ Rechtssprechung..). Und da ist es ja durchaus gerechtfertigt !

Da hast Du wohl recht! Aber die Rechtssprechung anzugehen ist illusorisch. Aber die mögliche Nicht-Verpflichtung in einem Pro-Tour Team hat eine so starke abschreckende Wirkung, so dass sich jeder Pro-Tour Fahrer reiflich überlegen wird, ob er denn zu Doping greift.
Ich halte die „Nachsperre“ (d.h. die Unmöglichkeit in einer Zeit nach einer Dopingsperre einen Pro-Tour Vertrag zu bekommen) für eine der wichtigsten und treffendsten Anti-Doping Maßnahmen der letzten Jahre überhaupt.
Grund: Nicht in allen Ländern herrscht in Sachen Doping die gleiche Strenge bzw. Rechtssprechung wie in Deutschland oder der Schweiz. Und es ist immer der nationale Verband für die Verfahren zunächst einmal zuständig. Die UCI kann gegen die Urteile der nationalen Verbände dann Einspruch einlegen, aber das dauert und hat häufig wenig Erfolg.
Nun bedenke man, dass manche Fahrer aus Ländern kommen, die alte, mafiöse Verbands-Strukturen haben, da wird mal schnell 6 Monate Sperre über den rennfreien Winter ausgesprochen und die Sache ist vergessen. .. Das ist natürlich bei ECHTEN Dopingvergehen nicht haltbar und ungerecht.Deshalb: Ich hoffe, die Ethik Charta der Pro Tour Mannschaften hält dieser Bewährungsprobe stand. Es wäre ein Zeichen für den sauberen Radsport, genauso wie es die vorläufige Nicht-Zulassung von Phonak zur Pro-Tour war.
Realistischerweise fürchte ich aber, dass es den gleichen Weg wie die Phonak-Sache gehen wird. Juristisch wird Danilo sich die Aufhebung der Sperre erwirken und darf (theoretisch) nach 2 Jahren wieder fahren. Wird ihm aber nichts helfen, er wird nicht jünger und auch nicht schneller…
Habe gerade bei cyclingnews gelesen, dass di Luca diese Woche (d.h. nach Baskenlandrundfahrt) krank war und ein Start noch nicht 100% sicher ist… Falls er doch startet, ist diese Tatsache beim Wetten sicher zu berücksichtigen.
Ja, wird sicher spannend. Die Flach-Klassiker Fraktion (Wesemann etc.) trifft auf die „Berg“-Klassiker Fahrer (Rebellin, Di Luca).
Zu Wesemann: Denke, er wird Helferaufgaben im Team bekommen, da ja Vino und Matze K. sicher die Kapitäne für dieses Rennen sind.
Ich rechne mit einer Grossattacke von Rabobank, da die ja mit ihren Heimfahrern (Dekker, Boogerd) in einer ähnlichen Situation sind wie T-Mobile in Deutschland…Viel ging da noch nicht dieses Frühjahr (abgesehen von Freire). Zum Sieg wird es aber eher nicht reichen, rechne mit den Fahrern, die auch im Baskenland vorne waren: Rebellin, di Luca.
Hm, bei diesen Sprintrennen mit unklaren Konstellationen (Motivationsprobleme nach Flandern und Roubaix, evtl. alternative Teamtaktiken etc.) bin ich zurückhaltend. Würde also auch bei „small bet“ bleiben.
Amstel steht vor der Tür, wird auch schwer, da etwas vorherzusagen, da ja die Protagonisten bei den Vorbereitungsrundfahrten noch nicht alles gezeigt haben.. Rebellin ist im Spiel, das ist sicher. Warten wir mal auf die Quoten und H2H…

Boonen: Habe ich auch schon gesehen. Ist mir aber noch zu riskant, wer weiss, was noch alles passiert bis Juli. Ausserdem darf man den Hushovd nicht unterschätzen. Der ist ziemlich stabil uin seinen Leistungen. Und das ist ja etwas, worauf es bei der Tour ankommt. Da hat er mehr Erfahrung… Wait and see. Obwohl die Quote natürlich OK ist im Moment.

Klar, aber die Sarthe Rundfahrt war ja auch schon vorbei, als P-R stattfand…..
Bei zwei Rennen, die zur gleichen Zeit stattfinden, gemeldet zu sein bzw. bei einem auszusteigen, um das andere zu fahren geht DEFINITIV nicht.Ich glaube nicht dass man bei einem Rennen aussteigen darf um dann ein anderes zu bestreiten. Da gibt es Regeln, die so etwas verbieten. Und wenn Matze und Vinokurov beim AGR am Start stehen wollen fahren sie Aragon wohl eher nicht.

Da magst Du recht haben. Vor allem Flecha ist ja nicht unbedingt ein Sprinter.. War schon erstaunlich, wie viel er geackert hat zum Schluss. Hätte ihm keiner übel genommen, wenn er nur draufgelegen hätte.
Ja, T-Mob hatte diesmal echt Pech. Wese immer vorne, dann Defekt und Attacke Boonen. Das ist nicht die feine Art, wird unter Rennfahrern bestimmt auch nicht vergessen…Man sieht sich in der Regel mehrmals im Rennen. Im Moment aber egal, da Boonen das Rennen gewonnen hat und später keiner mehr fragt, wie….. Schade drum, denn ich hätte T-Mob nach den ersten 170 km durchaus noch etwas zugetraut. Hatten noch fast alle Helfer dabei.
Verschläft T-Mobile jetzt die Gruppe ? Oder hatte Wese oder Zabel Defekt und die haben gewartet ????

Ja, die beim RSN-Ticker haben wirklich keine Ahnung! Manchmal frage ich mich, wie man sich in der Presse für so exponierte Positionen qualifizieren muss. Mit Qualifikation und Fachwissen scheint das häufig nichts zu tun zu haben….
Mist, France 3 hat jetzt an France 2 abgegeben…Da bleibt nur der cyclingnews-Ticker. Die Jungs sind immer ganz ordentlich informiert..Wer die Chance hat, France 3 zu empfangen (ist in BaWü im Kabelnetz), die senden gerade LIVE! Werden nachher von France 2 abgelöst, dann ist zwischendurch Sendepause bis ARD einsteigt….
